User interface design
We can design the layout of pages or screens for your web site or application so that they are attractive, usable and meet accessible design guidelines.
Our approach
We usually begin by interviewing or observing users doing tasks that the application will support. This helps us understand each step in the task, so we know how the application must work. We produce a set of flow diagrams to document this.
We then move on to create the screens. We do all this on paper, showing the type, placement and labelling of elements (buttons, text boxes, etc.) for each screen.
As we design screens, we test them with users to evaluate and refine the designs. We do this on paper, so we get the design right before you invest in development and graphic design.
Finally, we document the way the screen elements will work. We include accessibility concerns to make sure the application will work for the widest range of users.
How we work
We will talk to you to identify:
- Key user groups
- Tasks that the site or application must support
- Business goals for the site or application
- Business processes relevant to the site or application
- Scope, expectations and timelines for the project.
Based on our discussions with you, we will draft a proposal. This will set out how the work will be done, when it will be finished and what you'll get from us at the end of the project.
Contact us to discuss your needs.
